The graduated filter makes for a bit of magic.  I also like how portions of the scene are blurred and unfocused, while Madam Sophia remains quite clear in her mission.

Thanks. Don't tell my mother, but I shot this while driving down the highway. It's a shot I'd really like to do at night with all the signs lit up, but I haven't figured out how to do it without getting arrested or killed or both. Early Sunday morning would be the best time traffic wise, but I think the signs go off sometime during the night. I'm thinking though......

It's always a banner day when the Chronicler of the Passing Life decides to post one of his (much too rare) pictures. That palm stops me just as surely as it was designed to stop and capture customers for Madam Sofia. Another Meyerfind to be appreciated by viewers around the world. From the blurred trees and bushes, it looks like it was quite a windy day.

(later) After reading your comments about this being a drive-by shooting, I applaud your steadiness of hand. Don't know how you managed it without driving off the road into a ditch. Maybe the spirits were looking out for you.

"Chronicler of the Passing Life?" My worst fear is that I'm capturing the future.  Thanks for the comments. You have a way with words that I truly admire.

Has to be seen large. You are a wizard photographing this while driving on a highway. And it works, as the movement is felt while Madam S. is stable. Next time you maybe a customer? ...at least for the lights, (you devil....;-))

Hi David If I may add my humour This is a handy shot to keep in mind that the dust bunnies up above the sign.MAY NOT BE SO . .. or should the readings be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances!.... Serious tho . good snatch .. and be careful out there.... rergards miken

I like it. But I was thinking when I first saw it what you were, that it must look really cool at night.

Spotted this as drive-by shooting even before I read your description. I guess I must be clairvoyant , I'm gonna get a sign and put it on my lawn.  I like the way the blue of the signage plays off of the unbelievably optimistically blue sky.

The blue frame works against that effect imo.

I think that the person who conceived this 'hand sign', is worthy of a designer's prize of sorts, as it has real potential to stop one in his tracks.... Glad that you didn't, David, and my compliments for shooting this while driving by... A great and fun find indeed, and the blur adds to the weird psychic atmosphere in the photo. And yes, I think that you should definitely go back at night to take another shot of this...!  (although maybe as a passenger :-)

this is a good one.  That big palm sign could stop an airplane.  Did you make an appointment?  Cheers, Micheal

I'll get that night shot someday somehow. There are three signs that are lit at night, and it will be awesome. But it will have to be tripod mounted, and that can't work very well while moving. Additionally, one needs to be in just the right spot to get the signs in a position where they do not overlap and the elevation of the house is correct. It's gonna take some illegal activity. No doubt about it.

I love how the sign(s) are very clear yet the edges are blurry; it creates a somewhat mysterious mood for this photo and really caught my eye. Great capture and very well done! Thank you for sharing! :)
