In lieu of flowers, please accept this as a thank you to all of the

dear friends I've met on PN, and just maybe this is a harbinger of

spring after a rough winter for us all!

I've been enjoying your winter pics so much!  But, these looks scrumptious -- springlike in their ripeness and tempting with their long stems.

Christal...  You have discovered my Achilles heel, strawberries!  Excellent detail and color... makes me want to just reach out for one... Mike

It is anything but spring with mounds and mounds of snow and even though the temperature will improve tomorrow, today was bitterly cold here in the Montreal region.

This is a beautiful image that has been superbly captured. I like the overall clarity, sharpness and no overload in the red channel.  I can see variations in red and those that have a bit of orange. I like the fact that there are pieces of green providing a visual contrast to the red. Now all I need is to come and abscond with all of them to place where I won't be seen eating all of them. I know that is not very nice and they are probably already consumed.

Thanks for visiting my multiple exposure image and I provided the answer to your question but just in case you don't get to it, the answer is that I change the zoom DURING the 2nd exposure. I have been thinking about a situation where I might change the color balance during the 2nd image and also zooming which might produce some crazy stuff. Perhaps this is my attempt to get out of a photographic mode that borders on stagnation.

Hope you found this helpful.

Thanks to all for expressing your opinions on this.  It's funny, the same day I loaded this on my PN site, I went to the grocery and bought some strawberries that actually were red and smelled fragrant, instead of the green hard rock-like imitations of strawberries we've been getting all winter.  Of course, they come from California......Chris, you lucky guy!

Tony, Thanks for your technical analysis on this, and I'm glad you like it.  As for your multiple exposure image......yes, I did see your comment, and I appreciate your description of how you achieved that.  I'm sure there must be some trial and error with that technique, but you sure got a beauty with that image!  Thanks so much for following up with me!

Christal, sorry for being late to the party. I am glad that so much love is still left for all of us. I was touched by your comment and kindness.

Delicious! This is so crisp and clearly focused with gorgeous rich colour. This would make a wonderful poster or card. In my humble opinion, you could lose the frame, it detracts from the beautiful image.

Christal,

When I found this one, . . . as I'm having my 1st cup of morning coffee, . . . now I'm thinking Corn Flakes & Strawberries! And, I ususally don't even think of eating till after the third cup or so!

Very nice lighting and great details!

Regards,

Jim j.

A berry fine picture. Vibrant and well served.

It is so sharp, color accurate and appetizing.  Now I have to scrape the whipped cream off of the monitor...

Idiot me.  I never thought of strawberries as heart-shaped until you paired it with Valentine's Day.  I think this qualifies as clueless.

Lovely, sumptuous work.  A dribble of chocolate would make the experience complete.

View this one 'Larger' for maximum effect.  Great, soft lighting. Eye catching subject material.  And I agree with Tony that the contrasting red-green also helps.  Beautifully exposed with optimum saturation.  Your choice of frame to present this one to the public is icing on the cake.   The only thing I can suggest to have improved it is to have sprayed water on the berries.  Would that render it a cliché or a classic?  I guess that's where a viewer's artistic license would come in to play.  Something to think about in any case.  Not to take anything away from this one; it's a stunner by any measure!  Good work.  Best, LM.

YUM!...these look delicious.  Such rich colors and one of the nest strawberry photos I have ever seen.  Thanks for sharing.

Great composition, Christal.  I want one now!  They are all so perfect.  If you are anywhere near the violinist that you are a photographer, you must be awesome!   Aloha.
