Finally stranded

after a long pause, I'm finally on my way back into photography. hope that feeling of

recommencement lasts :-)

I love that composition with the boat nestled amongst the grasses in the foreground, and the line of uprights in the distance giving another focal point.  Not sure about the treatment near the top of the frame though, I think that would be better suited to a sepia tint or B & W image.

Alf, you're right, the treatment may be kind of too much for most tastes. I wasn't too sure myself, yet I considered the untreated border to lack some information, to be 'too empty'. thus, I didn't remove the treatment :-)

Great work! I happen to be a huge fan of these type of border treatments since I am not really one that likes borders. The treatment you have given the border just adds more character to the photo, giving it the appropriate age for the look you wanted as suggested by your title. Very well done! Thank you for sharing. :)
