joanbn 0 Posted January 20, 2011 I feel the photo is too dark as you can barely see the bodies. They look like beautiful birds. Hope you have some more photos of them. Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted January 20, 2011 Joan, perhaps the dark patch on the right-hand side of the image, is creating the impression that the image is too dark. I composed that way to create a romantic atmosphere. I am uploading a cropped version of the image. I do have many shots of these birds, which I shall upload in due course. Many thanks for your visit and feedback.Alberto, thank you very much, dear friend.Sumon, thank you very much for your appreciation. Do you feel the image is too dark?Maurizio, many thanks for your feedback.Falak, many thanks for your encouraging feedback. Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted January 20, 2011 the darkness does serve its intended purpose... a private moment on which we are intruding... i do read this photograph as a depiction of a sentiment rather than the usual kind of bird picture... i love it, Amalda Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted January 21, 2011 Rajat, you are absolutely right. I do not have the required skill, patience and lenses of a bird photographer. I felt like capturing a tender moment.Thank you very much, indeed. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 21, 2011 Rajat is right, he has catches it perfectly. The attitude of the two birds expresses a feeling of tenderness. The darkness emphasizes the solitude of the moment, something that is lost with the tighter crop. Link to comment
bob_belanger 1 Posted January 21, 2011 Beautiful shot and nice atmosphere. Wonderful colors, they just jump off the page. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted January 21, 2011 The cropped version is quite nice and still doesn't intrude on their privacy too much. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted January 21, 2011 Jack, so we are in the same frequency. Intimaticy & tenderness, I liked to show in this image. Many thanks for your approving nod.Ilkka, many thanks, dear friend.Aviar, thank you for your encouraging feedback.Radu, thank you very much. I shall upload few shots of painted storks ,in future.Bob, thank you very much for your visit and observation. I changed the level of the background to make it bit dark, for color-contrast. After reading your feedback, I feel I habe been able to achieve the desired effect. Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted January 22, 2011 I can see why you left this photo dark, especially by the title. Dark, in the night, an intimate exchange between these two 'mates'. Very touching really. There is just enouch light to see their beautiful colors. This shot kind of 'gets' to me. Love it! Link to comment

life-in-perspective 0 Posted January 22, 2011 Though the darkness serves the purpose of intimacy, yet I like the 2nd one. Best regards. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted January 22, 2011 In this case I also prefer the second upload because of the greater impact with the entire frame filled. Compliments! Link to comment
amrit_chatterjee 0 Posted January 23, 2011 Perfect timing. You have captured the right mood of the birds in their most intimate moment hence the privacy of darkness. The vivid red hoods of the birds appear as their flaming glories.I also liked the cropped version which shows the details of the features. sumon_mukherjee 0 Posted January 23, 2011 No it’s not too dark. The darkness has enhanced the romantic mood of the composition. The darkness in the background has also revealed the striking reds in the image. Regards. Link to comment
