I had been trying to get shots of Mount Baker over the past few years,

and the day I took this it had been very cold and crisp. It is funny

that I did not see this shot until I saw a guy at a bus stop with a

pocket digital camera shooting this. I had to pull over and have a

look. I pulled out the tripod and the borrowed 100-400L series lens,

and took a number of shots at varying focal lengths. I liked this one

the best. I always welcome comments, so if you stop by drop a line.

Dear Paul, you did a great job here specially with the lens you used to end with such a remarkable and powerful landscape capture, your exposure value here been set superbly and the DOF is an outstanding one, I also like this tone for a sun set, it is adding a very pleasant feel to the image and its well thought of composition.

Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

Wow! Those colours are just fantastic! and further accentuated by the fringe of sihouetted pines, there is another layer just visible beyond that I just wish there was a bit more of, but thats not a critiscism, that just me being greedy! This shot is so much better viewed large the textures on MT. Baker are exquisite. A real visual delight!

Well done Paul!

Best Regards

This is a beautiful image and love the colors. I think Mt Baker is one majestic mountain and you certainly have captured that here! Where were you at a bus stop that you had this view of Baker?

Best regards, Pamela

Thanks Pamela.  I was actually just a bit away from the bus stop as I was driving, and did not want to plug the bus stop up.  The bus stop was located on King George Highway, just off 8th ave.  Cheers.

I ditto all the accolades above on this terrific image.  You may want to consider cropping in from the bottom.  Here's a sample.  Nice work.

It is funny, Larry, but I was thinking about that for some time.  I also felt the dark treeline was somewhat heavy.  I like your crop very much, and will adjust this image accordingly.  Thanks mate.
