Taken a fews years back in the Addo Elephant National Park, near

Port Elizabeth SA.

Staying overnight in the park allowed us the opportunity to be at a

waterhole before daybreak. This small family was the first (of many) to

arrive.

Your comments will be appreciated.

Lovely grouping, it must havebeen an awesome sight to witness. I notice your focal length is 150mm, which makes you reasonabley close to these animals, was there any iminent danger or risk? I like the sidelighting and detail, and the way they are all facing you, as if they are lining up for a familly portrait.

Great Work!

Alf

......... thanks for your visit. I think these guys get used to the Rangers tracker vehicles being around so provided you're wearing subdued clothing and stay seated and quiet you just become part of the "norm" for them.

They never stop watching you though...... there is always someone on guard, especially when youngsters are in the group. Yes, they were close, could hear the tummies rumbling........ it was awesome.

Thanks for your kind comments.

Regards.

.......... my presentation was "as seen". They keep a close formation as protection for the young one. The early morning lighting (from right to left) created the atmosphere of the image.

Thanks for your coments.

This image is a treasure, Grayham--what an opportunity you had, and you took advantage of it with wonderful results!  Very nicely done.  And thanks for the notes on the elephants and how you got the shot.  Such information is always appreciated. All the best...Bill

............... thanks for the visit and kind comments. The African bush is always an awesome experience filled with heightened expectations of what might be around the next bend in the road. A visit should be on every photographers "bucket list".
