This picture of a tiger in the wild was taken in India. This tiger was about 30 feet away at the time of the shot, and the fly on its nose is clearly seen. Appreciate your comments. Tx

It is a good attempt to get the face fill up the frame.  Not including the full mouth and whiskers weaken the composition.  May be the long lens was in the way that you could not back away to include the full face.

The  shallow DOF has made the nose soft as we tend to focus on the eyes. You may have a wider shot that could be cropped effectively to include the complete face. Lack of adequate sharpening has also contributed to the overall softness.

I am still trying to wrap my head around the story behind the picture. You got within 30 feet distance from a tiger in the wild to take a picture. The tiger is looking straight at the camera. I am curious to know how you were protected from an attack.

Of course, the picture is a rare image.

The picture was taken at Bandhavgarh National Park. I was safely in a jeep and the tiger was just off the road. As long as one follows rules and does not enter the tiger's territory its safe. When a jeep went just about a foot off road, the tiger imeediately got up and snarled - will post that pic later. Cheers
