johnborg 0 Posted November 26, 2010 A very artistic interpretation and presentation of this dancer using vibrant colours and isolation with a black background. Is this hand colouring? If so, I really think you made a great job!! Congratulations and best regards! Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted November 27, 2010 When we visited Santa Fe, I saw a lot of art from Fritz Scholder, whose paintings I found downright thrilling. This has his sense of electric Native American spirit. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted November 27, 2010 Thank you all for your kind words and support. I am so happy to know that I can share my ideas and images with you. You all make being here on PN so pleasant and worthwhile. Best wishes, Linda Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted November 27, 2010 I didn't recognize the name "Fritz Schrolder" so I googled him. I recognized some of his paintings, the bright coloured horses were familiar. I think I saw them in a art magazine I used to get. I think he has been imitated quite a bit. I see mass produced brightly coloured horses in the local tack shop. I agree some of the paintings are thrilling. Electric spirit is a good description. Thanks for introducing me to his work. Link to comment

hstelljes 41 Posted November 28, 2010 Hi Linda, This is something different from you and I think that in itself is great. Always good to broaden the horizons so to speak. The photo itself is very good, it has a very artistic flow to it. Take care.Holger Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted November 29, 2010 I'm glad you googled Fritz S. Though his technique has been copied, the pictures in real life were phenomenal, not like those cheezy knock-offs at Western shops. I used to subscribe to Southwest Art and saved years of it until I moved to Boston. Western art here is about as popular as an enema. They're more into plump nymphs ala Renoir or modern abstract monstrosities lamenting urban decay.I still think this is a fun capture. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted November 29, 2010 Whaaaaaa? Are you telling me that enemas are unpopular in Boston? Here in our little town there are Colonic Irrigationists on almost every street corner doing a booming business with health conscious Boomers. Link to comment
janienews 0 Posted November 30, 2010 This has a wonderful energy, Linda. Great use of the Fractalius filter. I can see how people would find it American Indian in flavour. She looks like a Shaman. Link to comment
