alfbailey 2 Posted November 20, 2010 What an extraordinary creature, I take it the title refers to either it's extinction or the threat of it. We, the human race probably don't even know half of the creatures that we have already managed to destroy, but a timely reminder of the rich diversity of mother nature, is displayed superbly in your photograph and the title, whilst a sad epitaph, serves as a loud wake up call also.Professional and poignantBest RegardsAlf Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted November 20, 2010 Birte, it is, indeed, a great tragedy that we are destroying the habitats of such beautiful creatures. Superb shot. Tack sharp image with amazing color-contrast. Link to comment

hstelljes 41 Posted November 22, 2010 Hello Birte, If I understand your title correctly then we have another casualty in this senseless world. What a shame to be able to only see this creature through a photographers lens, as good as you are, is very sad indeed. This is an outstanding image by the way. But your ability to bring us these photos and your message is a true credit to you and we are all grateful, collectively speaking of course. Take care.Best Wishes,Holger Link to comment

elportebonheur 0 Posted November 28, 2010 Very similar to the golden Panama frog. Although habitat loss is surely one of the reasons, a fungal disease is wiping out that amphibian! Many, many people are involved in the rescue operations at this very moment - successfully - so we are not all bad... Good close-up - compliments! Link to comment
Tina Karina 47 Posted December 24, 2010 Hell Birte, very nice capture, beautiful image.Dear Birte, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! With my best wishes, warm regards, Tina Link to comment
stupski 0 Posted January 25, 2011 Beautiful Golden Panamanian frog. I read somewhere that these days, the only places they are breeding is in zoos, and that's because their environment is completely controlled there. More houses, less trees, no frogs. Nice shot Birte. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted February 1, 2011 I've never seen one of these frogs Birte, absolutely stunning, yet endangered of course. Very good capture! Thankyou so much for sharing, I've learned yet something new again! My apologies for being late, Gail Link to comment
