End of the season

This is the original and I think I prefer this darker version - I just don't know why. What do you think?

Hello Bente, normally for me, the darker the better...but I like this particular photo with a bit of light. And you have just the right amount of light to make it refined. Wonderful image.

I prefer the original version because of its background. Cool and somber mood. Karl

I like the posted version. I ALSO like darker, muted, but feel the brightening of the petal edges, makes the subject pop. Overall, the photo interprets dreary. Yet that hydrangea, hangs onto its last spark of life and color. And the depth seems multidimensional as a result.

"End  of the season" but  still beautiful. The  frost  is  visible as a crown on this  beauty, it  stand out  from the  darker  background, witch  was bright  and colorful in the season past. How  symbolic  this  image!  It is picture of a poem. Excellent.
