ah yes the great horned owl? i much prefer the clean pristine  snowy owl.king of  the  forest and wisdom to boot.. great emotion in the close up of the eyes.. so much detail you can see the soft texture of the feathers... take care samme

Cool work :) I like the tight crop and the sharpness and details in the shoot.

Best regards Tore

I have visited your portfolio before--your abstract stuff is amazing!  In this shot those eyes are what make it...then there is the feather and beak detail, including what looks like a bit of owl snot (?) on his upper lip.  Really a superb capture.  Maybe in a perfect world, some of the darker areas (especially top left and top right) could show more detail?  Very, very nice!

I think I remember this look from my childhood, just before my mother gave me a whipping for some misdeed. The eyes are great; the crop is excellent - the viewer focuses on the triangle area of eyes and beak, and wants to slink away under that withering stare. It makes me feel like prey being observed by a great predator... really a bit of an emotion-stirring photo if you keep looking at it.

It may be my imagination but the owl looks tired to me. Because of that, the image amuses me. Other than the amusement, I have to say that I like it a lot.

Have the strange feeling of seeing Kaa.

"Trust in me..."

Bagheera ?!

Florin, what Kaa has to do with  Bagheera?! Kaa is from the Star wars and Baaghera is pantera leo from the jungle! This on the picture is a simple owl!
