I love the car in particular -- the detail, form, scratched up, wonderful grill and the decision of b&w separate from the background of color -- clever!  The colors surrounding are warm and fall-like, and form sort of a wing, which gives movement to this crippled car driven.  You have a youthful spirit of fun and life -- your charm oozes out, preventing this from falling into ghoulishness.  The positioning or inclusion of the raven (is it a raven?) is like a link to Poe, which makes this in medias res. I want to roast marshmallows around the campfire and hear the story.  Regards, D

I think Donna has summarised this shot far better than I can but.....I'll do my best. There is definately a fun element to the image, a kind of spooky ghost train effect that epitomises the modern spirit of halloween. The moon the raven and the skeletal driver all iconic Halloween symbols!  It is also reminded of why you shouldn't rely too much on Sat nav's to get to your desired destination, and to take a packed lunch on those long journeys! : - )

Great creativity Linda well done!

Best Regards

Alf

Absolutely great stuff you got here Linda! I won't describe your picture to you and won't guess what its it supposed to mean, but I will remind you that once you wrote in the comment on one of my pictures: ...I can't get over you! Later explaining to me that it meant something like you can't easily digest my style! Cheers Linda and take care!

Donna, thank you. I did have a lot of fun doing this one. When I spotted this old wreck in the woods I could just see it being haunted. I don’t know if I’d want to roast marshmallows though, maybe spiders. ;-)

Alf, thank you. This dark, spooky, fun side comes out every Halloween. It’s one of my favorite times of year. Do you celebrate it like we do?

Pierre, thank you. Yes, I sometimes really have to look at your images for awhile to decipher their meaning. They often seem to have a Kafkaesque feel to them. There is no deep, intellectual meaning here in this one, it’s just a fun, Halloween image.

Niki, thanks for stopping by.

Pamela, I am glad you like it!

Garry, thank you! It is good to hear from you.

Warm wishes,

Linda

simply great, linda. the idea, i mean, and the subtile irony i see in this smiling skull, that drives as in an amusement park. and the colour's language is rare to see

Patsy Cline meets Ichabod Crane.  And oh what a walk they had.  There are so many elements that suddenly pop out, like the best ghost stories always do.

Wow, so sorry I missed this one Linda, have not been online as much as I would have liked.  This is SOOOO COOOL !  I love the textures and am always looking for one of those 'old wrecks' but haven't happened upon mine just yet.  Excellent composition Linda....well done! Would make a great Halloween card or Invitation to a Halloween Party !  congrats! Warm regards, Gail
