alfbailey 3 Posted October 21, 2010 The lights, colours and cloud patterns seemed to change by the second on this particular evening, I took numerous photo's and don't think any 2 looked the same. Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated. Thank You. Link to comment
papasan 0 Posted October 22, 2010 You certainly captured a rainbow of colors on this shot. Lovely composition, i like the foreground details, the little bits of light reflected in the ripples in the sand, and the stones randomly positioned to capture the attention, these details create a nice area to explore visually. The sky is also quite interesting it reflects the randomness of the ground patterns in a way, if that makes any sense. You anchored that shot quite well with the lighthouse standing unmovable like a sentinelle in the night. Well done Alf. Regards always - michel Link to comment
terrygilroy 0 Posted October 22, 2010 Wonderful colours and the light house really stands out against the sky. One for the study wall, best wishes Link to comment

KenPapai 37 Posted October 22, 2010 SPECTACULAR Alf. Have not seen one quite like tis one I can recall -- the color combos and all of that. I am slightly divided on the 50/50 horizon line but you made it work. Superb. Link to comment

pfranklin 0 Posted October 23, 2010 Very beautiful Alf! I really like the 50/50 composition as the lighthouse helps to break the horizon. Not having been there I think this might have been the best pov to highlight all the interest that is in this image and the reflux of the lighthouse in the pool which leads us into this amazing place ;) The colors are wonderful and the sky is a killer! I don't know how you could have done this any better! Wish I had been there with you...of course my photos would not have been as good..................or......Warmest regards, Pamela Link to comment

hstelljes 41 Posted October 23, 2010 Hi Alf, To me this is another stunning image. Everything is well balanced and the colors are real nice. You know me and lighthouses are one of my favorite subjects so this is especially nice right down to the reflection in the water. My only concern or question is what is the row of dark objects on the left, its not really bothersome I was just curious. Take care.Sincerely,Holger Link to comment
hamidfarzandian 0 Posted October 23, 2010 Two main things really attract me to your captures: Exact positioning of the camera relative to the ground level ( as here which seems sky in so near and low ), and secondly very impressive sharpness all over the capture. I think you know the hidden secrets of resizing! (Just for fun). And then, this capture is wonderful, with amazing green-blue stain and very matched golden glow. Control of light is masterful. Bravo for this masterpiece.Hamid. Link to comment

I was considering cropping some of the sky in order to achieve the "thirds" criteria that often rules my brain, but on this occaision I simply didn't want to lose any of that cloud formation, but I'm pleased it works for you Ken.Best RegardsAlfMICHAELSincere thanks for your supportive words and positive feedback, very much appreciated.Best RegardsAlfNEILIt is always interesting to get your viewpoint I appreciate your feedback and thank you for your vote of confidence on this one.Cheers NeilAlfDOUGThats a most flattering statement Doug and I thank you for your kind words, but I'm sure it does.......get better : - )RASHED Many thanks for your detailed analysis and positive feedback, very much appreciated.Best RegardsAlfPAMELASincere thanks for your very kind words and positive feedback. I agonized over the 50/50 split, but just wanted to keep all of that sky.I wished you'd been there too Pamela....the light, cloud formations and tide pools changed every minute, we would have taken the same shots, and I guarantee that none of them would have looked the same. Mine better? .......no never ......different ....yeah maybe : - ) Would have been fun comparing though!Warm RegardsAlfRUUDMany thanks for your kind comments, much appreciatedKind RegardsAlfALBERTO Thank you for your interest and kind words, much appreciatedBest WishesAlfJANNICAMany thanks for stopping by and for your positive feedback, I got a few good tips from a great photographer here on PN : - ) Take good care Jannica and Best Regards to you and your familyHej DaAlfHOLGERI had a feeling you might like this one : - ) Many thanks for your supportive comments and positive feedback. The dark object are a series of specially designed concrete blocks, placed in interlocking formations to form a protective groyne against the tides of the river. About 30 years ago the sand in this area had all but been washed away by the River Mersey. The solution was to place several of these groynes along the river banks, and it's worked, the sand retuned relatively quickly, hope that explains the mystery Holger : - )Best RegardsAlfHAMIDSincere thanks for your detailed analysis and positive feedback, the sky was impressive on this evening, the cloud formations seemed low in the sky and ever changing before my eyes. I have another image which I may post in the future, where the sky looks almost touchable. Secrets of re-sizing? ......well maybe one or two : - )Best RegardsAlfDAVEGood to hear from you, I appreciate your positive feedback and I'm really pleased you like it. Many ThanksCheers DaveAlf Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted October 24, 2010 We all know that a picture never quite does justice to the scene as we experienced it. But this must come pretty darn near close. The lighting and colors are really remarkable, and I can't offer a single word of constructive commentary on this outstanding image. Bravo, Alf! Link to comment
rascal64 9 Posted October 24, 2010 Extraordinary work, Alf. I am guessing from the comments that a lot of the color is natural...yes? Making this even more exquisite and mysterious. Stunning and masterful...congrats! Link to comment
