Love the composition, color and the reflections of the reflections in the blue water. Well done, Regards, ifti.

A beautiful interplay of light, shadow, reflection and water movement, it all contrives to give me a sense of that, day-dreaming, staring at the water thing that we all do, (well I think we all do : - ) )

Nice work Liz!

Best Regards

Alf

The shimmer in the water gives the image a painterly effect. very good.  rated 6.  geez - the ratings on this are all over the map - '3's to '7's. One photographer here at PN once told me that it is good to see images like that - people either hate it or love it. They are moved by it. I am not too sure about that theory since people who rate low usually don't give any reasons so you are left to ponder whether it is hate, competition, mischief or a sincere opinion.  A year ago it seemed like I could get average ratings from 5.8 to 6.2. This year with the few that I put up for rating it is more like 4.5 to 5.5 - perhaps the standard of rating has changed. an example of that is http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=11842991 all the best.

Liz:  I have looked at this photo about four different time, and finally have a comment.  I love the reflection, but something is missing.  I don't understand how the large column reflections in the foreground fit with the rest of the bridge.  Great color!  Tom

Many thanks, Tolo, for stopping by to comment.

Tony, I am pretty disgusted by the "new" rating system, and I keep wondering why nobody says much about it. I have seen so many extraordinary images get slammed with paltry numbers - and there is no good reason why, unless it's because now people can throw out anything without worrying about being named. I think we all will see our numbers drop. Thank you for taking the time to comment here. This image is actually one of my personal favorites.

Thank you, Bobby, for stopping by. It's always nice to see what you say.

Tom, thank you for your comment. The "columns" are very large buildings a ways off. I cut off the top of the trestle bridge because it is terribly ugly - rusted, debris ridden etc. I mainly wanted to show off the reflection of the buildings complimented by the pilings with their rusted tones.
