bradkim 8 Posted October 9, 2010 Amazing work, Gunnar! You turned the difficult high-contrast situation into an opportunity to make an successful art! My admiration! +++ Link to comment
vezio paoletti 0 Posted October 9, 2010 dozens , hundreds of zebra images have bored me for years. Your shot reconcile me with this beautiful , photogenic animal. It's true , you turn a problem in a opportunity : all your choices are correct : the square frame , a neat B&W, the highlights/shadows equilibrium. Just the big stone on the left seems me a too dark presence for the image balancing.congrats Vezio Link to comment
color 3 Posted October 9, 2010 Nice image. I wonder if this wouldn't be better without the falling water in the upper left and the artifacts just above the water. My thought is that I find the water distracting and the piece of fence makes it more obvious that this is a scene in a zoo. Link to comment

elportebonheur 0 Posted October 9, 2010 Black and white in the sense of the words! Very attractive final result - the play of lights and shadows and tonality choice as such included. Fine work, Gunnar, compliments! Link to comment

wolfgangarnold 142 Posted October 11, 2010 as others mentioned already: given tricky light situation exposure is perfect. Despite the scene being dynamic and conveying a sense of movement of the zebras (several details like motion blur of water and wagging tail underlining it) the trunk of the tree, dark leaves above and shadows nearly in a half circle around the zebras stabilize the image - so despite movement, there's no clutter - wow!cheers, Wolfgang Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted October 17, 2010 It is an impressive work in hard light condition, and you have well observed the possibilitiesThe composition is well balanced. The water drops is a nice compositional "answer" to the tree curvature . The rock on the L ,the "semi circled" lights/ shadows of them in the FG. and the dark grey BG , rocks and tree are well "framing" the group and texture of the zebras .I agree that the very top on the L side can be cloned out ,but it is a creative skilled photgraph. carsten_ranke 0 Posted October 31, 2010 This is my favourite of your series, first I was torn between the tighter 2nd B&W and this one but here you have a wonderful harmonic lines arrangement and superb light in one, more than in the 2nd one. The tree and water-drops lines add impact here, IMO. Link to comment
