jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted October 1, 2010 My friend Lisa has many varieties of plants in her well manicured garden. During the last five years she has joined an Orquid club and has hundreds of different Orquids. My partner Jorge with her in the garden is also addicted to gardening as much as I am to photography. They were doing their thing and I was doing mine. They ignore me completely and I truly enjoy myself as much as they did. I was also a gardener for 30 years, spending time in my garden daily. Rates/comments appreciated. Thank you for looking. Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted October 1, 2010 The many trees and shurbs including many varieties of haliconias, bromelias and Crottoms, provides many earthy colors missing in public land scapes. The variety of Ferns is amazing, you can see an small Fon Tail fern right behind Jorge in the walkway. The tree above Lisa is in the Sea Almond family and is beautiful and provides shade for the hundreds of Orchid hanging from its branches. Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted October 1, 2010 The giant bromeliads are very atractive and they add a beautiful forground to the many other green plants growing in harmony with one another. Lisa was very disapointed with the grass because the Bogs have ruined during the Summer month. I am facinated with the passion and intensity she talks about her plants. Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted October 1, 2010 This garden is the setting for a magnifecent Xmas party for children every year. Lisa rents a Santa and provides food and games for many children. I take my grands and they have a blast. Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted October 1, 2010 Lisa's Orquid collection is in the hundreds and now you will always see a few in bloom. Today we saw three gorgeous blooms. My favorite is the purple caytlea, however the white one get the center attention because of location. You can see it in the fourth image toward the right side. Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted October 1, 2010 When it blooms the flowers are black and in the shape of sleeper! A real rarety and gorgeous expensive variety. Sorry but it was not in bloom at this time of the year. Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted October 1, 2010 This time go back and look at center of the first image and locate the Holoconia that looks similar to the banana leaves. This will blom red gorgeous flowers next summer. It is in the Ginger family. Link to comment

jrickert 2 Posted October 25, 2010 Your images gave me a feeling of calm and peace in an otherwise hectic day. (Today I walk a dog 4 times and bathe my two dogs as well).I love the balance of green and red in this photo. I am sure my neighbor would love to see this photograph. Barbara loves to spend time in her own garden. Link to comment
