Ahhh, now this is my kind of shot!  Love it and you've caught the "crepuscular rays" perfectly.... :-) A term I learned here on PN, but can't pronounce.  I think God Beams works well... Mike

Mike.....I'm so glad I gave you an opportunity to use your new word.  That's a new one to me also......thanks!  Glad you like this!  You mean silly tennis shoes aren't 'your kind of shot'?  ;-)

Grigoriy....this was luck.  It was actually behind us, and I just happened to turn around at the right time.  Thanks for your lovely comment.

The direction of the light beams suit, affect and amplify the mood in the scene. This image appeals to the senses - definitely! Compliments!

In a walking time in a forest such moments are so pleasantly to see and even caught this kind of image,my best regards.

Do you know how much time I've spent waiting for those stupid beams to focus?   How long?  In the cold??  And you just turn around and get this magnificent shot.  Rats!!  OK, I'm kidding.  It's a lovely shot, I'm just jealous. S

Pierre,  Hello my friend.  Good to hear from you.  I'm anxious to check out your new images.

El....it's good to see you again.  Thanks for your recent comments.

Arup.....it's always good to see a new face.  I'll be checking out your work in the near future.  Thanks for your visit.

Radu....Always great to hear from you.

Steve.....talk about jealous......my husband is a 'newbie' budding photographer, and he got a better shot of this with his G11 than I did with my Canon 40D.  Grrrr!!!  Seriously, a few great shots like that and I think he's gradually getting more hooked on photography.   Thanks for your comment.

Wow Christal this one is amazing.  The sun rays are beautiful and I love how the angled light beaks up the vertical lines of the trees.  Good job handling the light in this difficult exposure.  Thanks for the kind comment you left me a while back on the Elowah Falls in Winter 2 photo.  I didn't even realize you had left the comment until recently.  - Scott

It's amazing how the light here feels more solid and real than the trees through which it streams.

Ahhhh...it is a sacred place indeed! How nice is this and wow you did a great job on exposing this...which I think might have been a wee bit challenging! I have tried to capture "god rays" many times and trust me I have never been this successful at it. LOVE IT!! I do hope you are well and I will send you a note soon, I haven't forgotten you and appreciate the note you sent  ;) Say HI to Norm for me too.

Warmest regards, Pamela

Fabulous image Christal! Excellent term for this lovely phenomena. You've really captured the essence of the forest in this image. Well done!

All the best,
Neil

I've often heard of this phenomena referred to as "Gods Fingers" too, but in this case the delicate filigree light beams seem far too refined to be called fingers. Maybe Gods veil would be a better description. I find myself yearning to see just where those light beams end up on the forest floor, but I think you have concentrated your focus on the most effective part of the light show. This is a finely balanced image of light, silhouette and colour, and even with the very high contrast, the retention of detail is excellent. But enough of the technicalities, this is simply a visual treat for all to enjoy.

Very well done Christal!

Best Regards

Alf
