davidmccracken 2 Posted September 21, 2010 Sometimes it is good to look, observe and then snap. I hope youagree. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted September 21, 2010 When I first started photographing nudes about two years ago I discovered that these sort of bodyscape images facinated me. Isolating on details of the body is as interesting as the whole figure. In addition, the line and resulting shadows at the place where the outside of the breast meets the ribcage is an incredible detail. With your model in this position and the detail of her necklace makes this an amazing photograph. The choice of B&W is perfect here. Congratulations, David! Link to comment
havanai 0 Posted September 21, 2010 Unlike Mark, I don't like the distractions of the necklace and the locks of hair. Otherwise this is a really nicely conceived and executed abstraction of forms of the human body. Contributing to the beauty is the simplicity, unfortunately somewhat negated by the intrusive hair and metal. Link to comment
raymondborg 0 Posted September 21, 2010 I like this different approach to nude photography. The metal nacklace is a bit distractive for my taste. Congrats. Link to comment
andrzejp 7 Posted September 21, 2010 Fascinating image. There is nothing destricting there. The combination of shapes and lines is incredible. SPLENDID! 7 Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 22, 2010 Mark, This is one of these images I like myself (although there are aspects of it that I don't like.) However, I am glad that you like it. You do seem to like it a lot. Thanks!Kurt, Interesting comment. The intrusive metal doesn't bother me but there is one section of hair that does. The section of hair that bothers me is the one that follows the curve of her back and disrupts the flow. Thanks for taking the time. It is appreciated.Raymond, I guess different aspects in different photos will be liked / hated by different people. Like Kurt above, I take your point. Thanks!Andrew, Even I am distracted by one aspect of this image. However, I am glad you are not. Thanks! Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted September 22, 2010 David, I need to add my name to the (irrelevant) list of those who find the necklace distracting but the image itself fantastic. Link to comment
gooseberry 0 Posted September 23, 2010 Not that I'm finding them distracting, but I'd expect "cleaner" composition = w/o hair or necklace, would result in a stronger image. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 23, 2010 Mark, I am so disappointed! You should have created a new list. Point taken!Tomek, Thanks for taking the time. Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted September 25, 2010 Except for the necklace it is perfect David, Very well done, -Cheers Link to comment
jonathancharlesphoto 0 Posted September 28, 2010 Very nicely observed and snapped. For me the hair adds to it and the necklace isn't distracting per se but just its gravity-defying angle: anyway it could easily be cloned out (in about 10 seconds) so the question is: do you really want it in? davidmccracken 2 Posted September 28, 2010 Owen, If there is something you don't like about it, it can't be perfect. As you may have gathered from my comments, I do not think it is perfect but strangely the necklace doesn't bother me. Thanks a lot.Jonathan, I appreicate your comment. What I like about it is that there is quite clearly a line between those who like the necklace and those who do not. Thanks! Link to comment
