It was a cloudy after the light drizzle. This pink Flower was so attractive in the atrium and the light was perfect. I could not resist and took multiple shots.

Nikon D300, Nikkor 70-300, ISO 400, spot meter on pink petal and shutter 1/400 I think exposure was -0.7.

Shot raw. Viewed in Picasa and it looked very good. Cropped resized, sharpened and posted. Never opened in RAW. Saved lots of steps. Will look forward to your C&C. Regards, ifti.

Ifti, to start with is nice to see a full focus image here in flowers, are not a lot these days.  the hibiscus itself displays well, color combination works nicely, like buds at diagonal ends of composition. the drops are a nice addition, but they raise the question why are they only on hibiscus and no where else. nice enough image, but lacks X factor.

Roger, thanks for detailed C&C. I spriked the bust so very gently not to damage the delicate petals. It was so small a sprinkle that not enogh droplets stayed oon the slippery leaves.

Boby, Thanks for giving me your time and encouraging comments.

Ruud, Thanks for giving me your time and C&C, I always admire your 'telling' pictures.

A really well exposed and processed image. Am I right in thinking you did all the PP work in Picasa? if so, you have done a brilliant job.

Nice work Ifti!

Alf, Thanks for giving me your time. I am glad you like the picture.

Picas reads the RAW and displays then as JPEG. I just rsized and sharpened it and posted. I am tempted to go back and open it in Photoshop Raw  and adjust and then see if there is any difference.

Regrads, ifti.

well, this is a hard one to choose between the two images. i like Sumons version for the clarity in the drops. but for that clarity we lose the lovely tones in the greens, which iftis image has. viewing on my monitor they are two different images altogether, and as Sumon said "Just another version...not a better one" i think Iftis is the more complete image of the two, those tones in the greens are a big part of the image, where to me Sumons image is more about the hibiscus. anyway thats my two cents worth......

Beyond all the techinical discussion on this shot, I just love it for its sheer simplicity and captivating innocent beauty! That is what matters most, to me! Regards!

The green with black background compliments the pink.  I think I like the tighter crop, because for me its all about the flower.
