I enjoyed your landscape photo of  the forest. deep lush greens, the fog, lighting and trees make for a very nice landscape photo. Great shot, well done. take care.

Ken, your photo was featured on the site when I logged on tonight.  Very impressive photo!  I especially like the subject, focus, color and composition.  I can't think of a single thing I would change!

I like the composition of this image, it seems to have been well thought out. The fallen tree gives good foreground detail and leads the viewers eyes directly to the near trees that in turn have great textures and detail. The graduated diminishing visibility of the other trees in the left accentuates the depth of the shot and gives the misty atmosphere authenticity.

Nice work Ken!

Alf

Paul, David, Michael, & Alf -- I very much appreciate your words and thoughts and contemplations.

I was hiking up the trail and looking for '"the shot" or shots. Also I was trying to avoid any highlight speculars (washed out) of sun shining though this thin fog layer.  I was about 2 miles and 50 mins. into the hike when I came intot his scene.  I took just this one shot, hand-held sufficed at 1/80 and ISO 800 and just 24mm.

I RARELY hike with a tripod if I know I'll be out for several hours along 5-10 miles.

Very nice forest shot with varied lighting and excellent details! I like the composition too!

The Thursday Canon forum drew me here! Glad it did!

Nicely done, Ken.  I like the way the fallen tree leads my eye to the view framed by the two foreground trees.  The lighting is just right.

Classic, Ken.   I know what you mean about the speculars.  I live out here and have to deal with that particular dynamic myself.  Wonderful image.   Cheers.   Regards, MR

Outstanding shot Ken! I find it difficult to capture the majesty, and mystery, of these old forestes. You've done a superb job with this image.

All the best,
Neil
