GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted August 6, 2010 Sass had 3 guitarists, this fella when playing his Electric Guitar, reminded me a lot of Carlos Santana. This song was more of a ballad, suiting the acoustic guitar to a 'T'. (comments welcome....tnx Gail) Link to comment

billsymmons 0 Posted August 7, 2010 Well now, performance photography is something I'm into. Most weeks I photograph jazz performances and I know how difficult it can be to get the right angle, right moment and right exposure with the low light. The coloured spot lights used on stage can play havoc with WB too.Evaluating this image with that knowledge, I'm impressed, the viewpoint is excellent, the exposure excellent and the post processing is perfect in both colour and mood.I mentioned you were the "poster girl" of PN. Well Sass might well want to use this as a poster for his performances.Since it is, in my view an excellent image, I will mention a slight improvement I would try, if it was my image and that would be to darken the top left bright spot, it kind of draws the eye a bit.Very, Very Good image Gail, Well done. All my best, Bill Link to comment
gsaphoto 2 Posted August 8, 2010 You have done outstanding work with particular image. You have manage transform ordinary shot to extraordinary work! Well done! Also, thank you for your comments on one of my latest work. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted August 8, 2010 Thhankyou so much for your critique. I wondered if you photographed the 'Jazz Clubs'...so you being informed makes this even more encouraging. To tell you the truth, I don't know why I didn't notice that spot on the top left, I never would have left it there as it is things like that that bother me. It was an outdoor concert at the Ribfest. There is a shot of Sass further along. I got a couple of good ones of her. (She was a Canadian Idol judge for the past few years, but was really 'hot' around '89ish years. On that shot Radu inserted a link to some of her songs.Last jazz Club I was at in To. was the Montreal Club with some friends, He was the Food and Beverage Manager at the Casino...(Steve Graham and his wife Dawnna worked there also.) We had gone into TO for the Celine Dion Concert, and walked to the Montreal House. Not sure of the group playing, but have seen them on the Tv. Was a great night of entertainment. Thanks again Bill........sincerely, Gail Link to comment

alfbailey 3 Posted August 9, 2010 Excellent perspective and definition, you have brought this image to life, it has a brilliant atmosphere, reminds me of my days when I played in the famous "cavern" club in Liverpool <sigh> when I had energy and hair in abundance. : - ) ..well ok I still have hair 1 out of 2 ain't bad.I agree with Tom about the album cover possibilities, or at the very least a publicity poster.Well done Gail!RegardsAlf Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted August 9, 2010 So nice to hear from you jorge! Glad you like this image. I find it very challenging editing these photos, so many shadows that are odd to edit as they are in more psychedelic colors, but when it all comes 'together' it is a satisfying feeling. Thankyou for sharing your thoughts with me jorge, hope you had a great weekend, sincerely, Gail Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted August 9, 2010 What's this, you are confessing to just being a 'babe'.....You just 'dye' your hair that beautiful white to look more 'mature' ! BTW....did you ever wear a headband....drive a Volkswagon Van with Peace signs and Flowers all over it.! Actually you'd look good in one now...you youngster! Rock On...Gail Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted August 9, 2010 Ah.....the Cavern Club....and you say you had hair....no I mean you still have hair.....but do you have ALL YOUR hair, or are you wearing some of it on the wrong side?????Isn't it wonderful when you see a shot and memories come flooding back, especially the days of our youth when the 'living was easy'. or so we thought. These are the years we must appreciate and never be too afraid to LIVE !!! Time passes too quickly....and then we will be wondering how we will fit in all we wanted to do, but have no more time left to filt it all in. Sliding into HOME BASE will become much more difficult.Thankyou for those fine words of encouragement. And that grande compliment. I can't imagine an 'album or disc cover'..or even an advertising poster....wouldn't that be grande??? Tnx again. Now go put on your 'Beatle Boots' and your 'Merry Widows Outfit'....you never know, someone may want to try something entirely different tonite!!!! Just kidding! Cheers for now, Gail Link to comment
