I dunno. A preacher in a polo shirt, shorts, socks and sandals is going to have a hard time conveying the weight of his message. :-) I just happened to watch "Oh God" last night though. I guess if John Denver can be a spokesman for God, so can this guy....

The great thing about street preachers is that they seem mostly to get ignored. This photo conveys that well. His isolation, his wasting of a sunny day while others actually live their lives together, holding hands and in groups as they seem to ignore him, presents an irony and a reality. This is nicely composed and captures a feel of casualness, the signs of that being the water bottle and sandals (with socks!), as well as the entire mode of dress. Not a very trusting soul, he's had to make sure to protect his bag by wrapping it around the feet of his stand.

I experience such a mixture of respect (for the man's dedication) and sadness (for its futility).  Often, I think it's more about the preacher's self-directed needs than a desire to save souls.  The crowd is tucked away, leaving that potted garden that has no choice but to sit there and wither.

This scene talks about him, but also about yourself...;-)).He is looking neglected by the poeple around him ,and by his own look and cloths..I saw it in Hide Park in London, some of them scattered around, with the same success...I upload one of then from London so at least they will have compamy with one another....;-))

Sorry Dave, I though it will be a link....I hope you don't mind, with the new draconian  rule of 10 minutes edit/delete...if you don't want it , it is impossible to delete....

( your PN  " improvements"....;-))
