alfbailey 3 Posted July 1, 2010 Birkenhead Docks could best be described as a rough old place, but the evening light seemed to bring a transformation. Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated Thank you. Link to comment

johnroberts 0 Posted July 2, 2010 A very calm and serene scene with the quietness of the docks and the mirror like water. Lovely low light tones going light to dark across the frame. Super shot Alf.Regards......John Link to comment

thadley 15 Posted July 3, 2010 Alf - I can't keep up with the quality and aesthetics of the images that you are loading to PN these days. This is very well seen and captured.Because I have this sensitivity to color, my eyes keep heading over to the right side wondering if the yellow has a tad too much cyan. Yet when I look at all of the other colors, everything from a color balance perspective seems to be in perfect harmony. I must therefore conclude that it was the nature of the light and you have captured it perfectly. And that moon and it's reflection! And those little patches of red! Link to comment

All my very best wishes to you and your famillyHej DaAlfGRANT Thanks for stopping by and for your feedback, much appreciated!RegardsAlfMICHAELThanks Mike, it's the details that does it for me also, the docked ship etc, I appreciate your kind comments.RegardsAlfTONY Sincere thanks for your feedback. I try not to meddle with things like colour balance these days, for the simple reason I mostly get it wrong. So unless an image needs considerable adjustment, I leave well alone. and stick to contrast, saturation and luminosity controls. I did desaturate this slightly after increasing the contrast, but the sky had some really strange colours and patterns further to the right of the image, I suspect these were the remnants of aeroplane vapour trails. When I get round to posting an image that I have named "Sitting on the dock of the bay" you will see what I mean. Thanks again Tony.RegardsAlfTIBIMany thanks for your visit and kind commentsRegardsAlfALBERTOMany thanks for your kind words I'm really pleased you like it!RegardsAlfKEITH Thank you so much, your encouraging words are very well received and appreciated.RegardsAlf Link to comment
