I've rarely done this, but deleted a photo as I could not even stand

looking at it. The frame was far too heavy and I should have waited until

it was more satisfactory. Alf made a comment (he agreed re frame..but

was pleasant comment, my apologies Alf). I've had a day where it

doesn't seem which image I work on, nothing seemed to please me.

(something like 'writer's block?). Hope this is more aesthetically

pleasing) sincerely, Gail

Really nice treatment for this subject Gail, colours and texture work well.

I must admit though I find the "empty middle" a bit disconcerting.

All my best,  Bill

There are parts of this I like but overall it isn't working for me, sorry. I think there may not be enough image separation within the shot so it becomes a bit of a jumble. and you lose focus. - Charles

Bob, so nice to hear you liked this image.  I have a long way to go with watercolor effects and editing, but you can only try....warm regards, Gail

I should have named this one the same as the one I did not like that had a frame too heavy, it was 'Alonside the Pond'.  Then the empty areas in the middleish section may be explained a bit more.  I layered these 2 imaged and used them while I did my 'digital alterations'.  Sorry, perhaps it would have been more clear is I had posted these to help explain how I arrived at the original image.  Thank you so much for your, as always, honest and insightful critique.  Sincerely, Gail

So glad to hear from you. I do have an email re program to compose and get sent off....(haven't forgotten).  Somehow I always feel like you and I are travelling alongside the same path, you're a bit ahead of me though, but you would be a great 'companion in composition' Patsy. Thankyou so much for your encouragement.  Sincreely, Gail

Thankyou for your input and honesty.  I can see why you feel this image gets 'jumbled' and how it just doesn't work for you.  I still have my reservations.  Many thanks for your visit. sincerely, Gail

Helo there Radu, I hope this message finds you in good spirits and all well with your 'world' here on PN.  Many changes lately for us all to get used to, and I truly still appreciate how you feel.  Your recent images have been lovely and through them I've hoped I"ve been right in thinking you are feeling much better about things.  We still have 'us' the ones who travel from Portfolio to Portfolio visiting each others images, and encouraging each other.  Friendships miles and miles apart, heritages and cultures so different but we speak the same language in 'photography'. Wonderful, isn't it? Tnks again for your words of critique that ispire me to try harder.

I'm watching a program on Stonehenge and wonder what marvels occured when these stones were placed.....or if much energy and planning went into the placement of the stones.  Amazing, and we are only working with Photos.  Cheers for now, Gail

You know, I got to thinking I would love to meet you one day.  I see a man who is a physician, a choice of occupation in which you have related great empathy for those you 'help'. And yet you still endeavour and wish to go outside your occupation and 'connect' with every level of humanity, in a way, almost completing a circle.  Your compassion inspires me to understand and have even more empathy for people.

And in turn your photos do the same. Thankyou for being part of my support group....a very important part. Worlds away. yet through PN.....not really.

I thought of you while I was working on this one.  You do so well with your watercolor and impressionist effects.  I wondered if you would like it.  Thankyou for your time, kind words and support.

Hello there 'down under'..........beautiful images I think are impatiently 'captive' in your creative imaginaiton. Your pace is quickening and you are honing in on even greater skills.  I'm delighted in watching your progression. I can't even imagine what level of excellence you will be sharing with us - this time next year.  I do appreciate that this image just simply 'works' for you......laid back and 'that's just the way it is for you.'  Thankyou so much. I feel like it is time to take a 'deep breath'.

Even though you are so far ahead of me in your level of photographic skills, I appreciate you care to keep track of how I am doing, and encourage me. It means so much to my level of inspiration. Most sincerely, Gail
