Zealand Valley Pond

An early morning among mist and moose in New Hampshire's Zealand

Valley. A pesky beaver was bent on disturbing the nice still water by

swimming in circles in front of my camera position and slapping its tail. I

ended up outwitting the beaver by luring the beaver (walking along the

edge of the pond) to the far end of the pond, then racing back into

position to trip the shutter.

I decided not to color correct the image, using a daylight white balance

setting. Your impressions welcome.

Great mood and atmosphere captured here, the blue hues add to the effect.

   This is a very nice scene, beautifully captured, and I love the color. The hint of green in the foliage on the opposite bank gives this a sort of a dreamy feel. Your tale of the beaver reminds us that as nature photographers we must be good at more than just clicking the shutter!
