Surrealism was a 20th Century philosophical movement that touched

photography which showcased fantastic imagery and incongruous

juxtaposition. This features only a lighthearted 'touch' of surrealism, set

in an urban/suburban setting, and maybe whimsically so. Your ratings

and critiques for this modern-day 'touch of surrealism' image are invited

and most welcome. If you rate harshly or very critically, please submit

a helpful and constructive comment; please share your photographic

knowledge to help improve my photography. Thanks! Enjoy! John

I think is a great and effective street shot and the wide angle is used wisely here to your and our advantage. My only nit is the cropping of the girl's foot. I really want to see her fully in the frame.

Besides this, great job, especially on the processing!

This aspect of photography I am unfamiliar with (except for those doggy calender photographs that depicts puppys with overly large noses etc) But I do like this effect, it is different and draws my attention, and I suspect it's a channel of photography that has some serious potential.

Kind Regards

Thanks for the kind compliment.  I thought highly of this and several others in a rapid fire series, before they moved on.

I also take to heart your comment about her foot.

In one past photo, where I fretted about a foot cut off at the bottom a wise member noted that the foot 'anchored' the entire photo and was therefore desirable; I am of that opinion here.  I don't really want people staring very much at her feet, anyway  . . . . for reasons you may figure out . . . . . if you have experience in bouncing girls and their nearby mothers.

Pardon me if I am a little 'arch' as I do not want to interpret this photo or describe it . . . for that might ruin it for some or decrease the pleasure some others have told me they derive from it.

Others with slightly less photographic/surrealistic merit more clearly showed the foot, but I like this one; let's say the foot anchored the girl  here, (as that other commenter did in that other photo previously.)

;~))

Do you mean fairly wide angle photography?

I take lots of photos with my newer (repeat) 12-24 as I refamiliarize myself with it, but was out last night and took about 240 images using solely a 24-120 and a 70-200 both VR, and both at very high ISO (both extended from afar and definitely NOT as a fovored shooter.

I shoot with what is necessary for the shot, and how close I can get and be comfortable, and get good composition as well.

This one worked out up close; ones last night worked out from quite far away, but two were stunners.

You may never see them, alas.

You'll just have to trust me, as good as this or better.

If you mean 'lke this' meaning 'street' having plenty.  Same with 'surreal'.

This is 'surreal light' in my mind.

In effect 'surreal witha big puppy nose' ;~))))

The best part, I think it all my photos are different (even if they are identifiable and distinctive as mine).

I invite you to come alone and follow my work if you like this.

Best to you and thanks.

I tried to post a new comment to you and it was rejected here by anti-spam software, though it decidedly was not 'spam'.

I sent it to you through Photo.net's e-mail system.

I hope you get it.

I have had 12 or more recent posts refused recently; it is getting to be a very big problem, as my posts tend to get long and there is no way to fix them as the problems cannot be pinpointed in text.
