I was this weekend on the Island Terschelling, on the north of the

Hello Jana, to crop out the boat would for sure fit the title better, but would ruin the picture, in my eyes.

I just made pictures from a beach-café called the Walvis, I did celebrate with Ryszard Tychawski on the Island Terschelling that we did see each other for the first time in Berlin 4 years ago. So that's how the title was born ;) and that's why he put this picture of me.

It could have been (to me) a perfect image if only the ship would have a little bit more room on the left and the two people a bit more space below.

Perhaps you are right Jan, but sometimes I like to crop it 'sharp'. For me to touch almost the bottem and the left site, gives it more tension.... but that is always difficult, we all see with different eyes, happily I would say... thanks for your comment and advice, I appreciate that very much

I think the title is less important than the image, the title can mean something personal, and doesn't necessarily relate to the viewer. The image itself however is superb, there is a great combination of nostalgia and joy depicted here, and the subtle tones accentuate these qualities. The composition may be considered by some as slightly off balance, but in my humble opinion, it works. I like it.
