alfbailey 3 Posted April 22, 2010 I liked the little boat house, and tried to show it within it's beautiful surroundings, waiting for a moment when the wind dropped to get a reflection shot was another matter! Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated. Thank You. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 22, 2010 This wonderful landscape really comes to life in your very well composed image. The mountains, the sharpness in the details and the beautiful reflections on the water is breathtaking. Also I am very impressed by your post work. Brilliant Alf. Take really good care and all the best to you and your family from your friend in Stockholm Link to comment
David-Wisse 5 Posted April 23, 2010 Alf - Nicely composed, with the foreground rocks seeming to echo the distant mountains in form. Very fine repeating colors and tones as well. I do have a small issue with the sky - would like to see the upper left corner a bit brighter, to match the clarity and color of the right side.Well done - Best, David Link to comment

johnroberts 0 Posted April 24, 2010 Great positioning for this shot, I like the way you have captured the outfall from the Llyn Ogwen across the frame. the clarity of detail is excellent and the way you have avoided all other buildings apart from the boathouse is spot on. Also the A5 is obscured from view superbly. Love the scene and it captures Tryfan in all its majesty.Regards.......John Link to comment

ndj 0 Posted April 24, 2010 Another excellent shot Alf! I hear you on waiting out the wind. That can be so time consuming, but the results speak for themselves. I liked you idea of implimenting our own rating system so here goes:Creativity - 7Originality -6Interest - 6Appeal - 7Maybe we need one for persistence too in this case - 7All the best,Neil Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted April 25, 2010 JANNICAYour kind comments and encouragement are like a breath of fresh air, and I thank you sincerely for all your help since I joined PN less than a year ago. This is the last image that I will put up for rating on this site, because of the rediculous rating system that has been left open to abuse by a few mindless halfwits. I Know that you have sufferered also Jannica, but we are not going to let them beat us.Warm regards to you and your family JannicaYour very good friend in the UKAlfDAVIDMany thanks for you visit and your thoughts, on reflection I should have cropped a portion from the left side, this would have eliminated most of the dull sky and also most of the wind rippled water.Cheers DavidAlfALBERTOMany thanks for your very kind comments and encouragement.Take CareAlfIlKKAThank you for stopping by, your kind comments are appreciatedKind RegardsAlfJOHANNAThank You! I hope that everyone reading this message will follow suit. Too many good photographers have left the site because of the inadequacies and unfairness of this system. It's time we fought back with our own rating system, that cannot be used anonymouslyThank you being the first one to rate my images in this way Neal. I hope others will follow the patternThis is the last image I will allow to be rated on this site,Thanks again NealRegardsAlfSincere Thanks and Best Wishes To AllAlf Link to comment
dianewatson460 0 Posted April 25, 2010 This is a wonderful photo. I had to rate it 7/7 since I couldn't find a darn thing wrong with it. Great job as usual. Link to comment
dbasinger 0 Posted April 25, 2010 Your work is wonderful and I cannot comprehend how anyone that actually looked at this photo could rate it a 3 or 4. My latest theory is that those raters have loyalties to another photo web site and are thinking (if they can) that we will become discouraged and look elsewhere to share our work. Just a thought. Be happy in knowing how good you really are. Thank you for such beautiful work. Take care, Deanna Link to comment

alfbailey 3 Posted April 25, 2010 Hi DIANEI am really flattered, thank you so much for your kind wordsWarm RegardsAlfHI DEANNAI really appreciate you stopping by and commenting, your theory about the anon raters, well thats something to consider, I honestly hadn't thought of that angle. For my part the anon raters have in the past been a mild annoyance, but since the departure of a person whom I would consider really great photographer from photo.net and very nearly a second in only a few days, the "mild annoyance" has grown considerably and I am now determined to seek a solution. More and more people are marking thier images "Cririque Only" and I shall do my best to encourage more people to do the same. It is only a matter of time that PN will get the message and do something about this inadequate system. Ratings are ok, but in reality what is really helpful is words, words that say what people like or dislike about an image, words that encourage, help and explain, words like yours and the other photographers on PN that bother to take the time and trouble to write a few lines. Spread the word Deanna, the revolution has started! : - )Many thanks for your kind words and encouragement.Kind RegardsAlfRICARDOSincere Thanks for your kind commentsRegardsAlf Link to comment
tibig 0 Posted April 26, 2010 Beautiful shot, I like the composition. You can "see in" a deer in the rock near the house, the tree looking like antlers.Best Regards, Tibi Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted April 26, 2010 I never noticed that before Tibi, but you are right it does look a bit like a deer. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind commentsRegardsAlf Link to comment
