alfbailey 3 Posted March 15, 2010 I was playing around with this HDR image and it occured to me that it looked like an image from a book I had as a child, it was full of big bright images and as I recall it was called "The Runaway Train" I then accentuated the look as much as possible in Photo Shop. Your thoughts and observations are always welcome. Thank You. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted March 15, 2010 It does have that 'text book colorful' look - well Done. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted March 15, 2010 Alf... The Little Engine that Could comes to mind also, but this engine's face has a mustache. Great shot and the tree adds excellent balance and detail... Mike Link to comment

donna pallotta 108 Posted March 16, 2010 this is charming, Alf; hope to see more treated pictures by you, because your subtle treatment here reveals an uncommon gift for it; also, i luv pictures of buildings, and yours are very interesting. i'm grateful for your visit to my bench 'Meet me here for the melting'; your idea about the wine complements much the mood the shot intended to create ;-} dp Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 17, 2010 This is very good Alf! So pleased to see your result with this lovely train. Your post treatment is excellent, bringing out just the right amount of the possibility with a tonemapped photo. Look at that sky with the clouds and look at the fantastic colors, both on the Runaway-Train and the nature around it. Your ability to use the technique in the exact proportions makes this a photo to be proud of and something for the "anti HDR" people to study very carefully. Congratulations and keep up the good work. Take really good care dear friend and all the best to you and your family from Jannica Link to comment
