Legend tells us that many years ago, this stone would be visited by

young maidens, who would throw a handful of pebbles onto the stone on

the incoming tide, they would then make a wish to become betrothed to

thier chosen suitor, and if a single pebble remained on the wishing

stone on the outgoing tide, thier wish would be granted!.........OK ok ok

It's just a lump of rock in the water, but what can I say I have a lively

imagination :- )

Your thoughts and observations are always appreciated.

Thank You.

Beautiful shot Alf with an excellent legend. Not sure which is the finest work of art: the creation of the legend, or the image ;-)

All the best,

Neil

What if you throw pebbles on it now….careful what you wish for! I love the fg, the color and foggy like water compliment the rocky beach and the big “wishing stone” nicely. This is a well composed and interesting scene, my eye searches deeper so as not to miss anything.

Warmest regards, Pamela

Hi Alf-Great job turning this hunk of rock into a piece of art. The composition is engaging and the light is sublime. Very nice.-Jim

Alf... Reminds me of an old US country song by John Anderson:

"Hey I'm just an old chunk of coal,
But I'm gonna be a diamond some day,
I'm gonna grow and glow 'til I'm so blue pure perfect,
I'm gonna put a smile on ev'rybody's face."

Well, you've taken this lump of rock and made it a diamond and the focal point of an excellent shot... Mike

Great photo. Love the sky and how it works well with the ocean colors. Nice clean and crisp. The crop fills out the theme of the photo catching the pillars way in the back left. Nice job with this one. Thanks for the feedback on my X-Ray.

I like this image because the slow shutter speed makes the water look like it has steam over it, making it mysterious and interesting. Wonderful light on the rock. I, for one, like that legend story, don't lose it!

I know just what you mean, it's been said by many that I can tell a good story, it can get me into no end of trouble, but then it probably gets me out of it again too.

PAMELA

I did try it Pamela, .......I closed my eyes, made a wish and threw a handful of pebbles,...... the woman walking her dog nearby wasn't very amused, most of the pebbles went down her wellies, .......(on reflection I suppose I should have opened my eyes before I threw them), but then my wish to meet a raven haired beauty was quickly realised, ....no not the woman, ...the black labrador she was walking, apparently is was judged third in class at Crufts annual dog show. ....well it was worth a try ... : - )

Thanks for all the great feedback Pamela, much appreciated.

I like the legend that you are telling us. It goes very well together with your beautiful shot. Well composed and with excellent post treatment. It is like that legend comes to life in your creativity. Excellent work Alf. Take good care my friend and all the best to you and your family from Jannica
