this is terrific. the gray background is perfectly suited for the image. the entire composition appears to be translucent and glowing. absolutely beautiful.

Your photo is made up of rather unusual and beautiful shapes, it is these varied shapes as well as the lovely soft tones that makes this a winner. Very nice!

Thank you all for the kind comments on “Pink”, I appreciate your taking the time to leave some words!

This was a day long project for me and not my typical flower shoot. I actually ended up with quite a few good images and will likely post some more later. The background is a piece of glossy grey-blue paper set up next to a window with bright sunlight; I used shades to direct the light where I wanted it. The flower was sitting on a mirror with another mirror opposite the window to bounce the light and for a couple hours the most amazing colors were reflecting onto the flower. This was a fun thing to try…I was also shooting water drops….not sure yet how I like those but do have some more ideas for another try at it ;)

Warm regards, Pamela

Your lighting here is just fantastic which is only exceeded by your post processing. This is just beautiful and worth the time and effort you put into it.

Good for you.....pushing the envelope and trying new things. This is really lovely, and it's the lighting that makes it so. Thanks for the explanation of how you did it, so we can all learn from you. :-)

Wonderfully creative piece. Your lighting has created a flower that feels effulgent and would seem ephemeral to disappear in the next breeze if not anchored by the grey of the background. You achieved a great work in this piece. Congratulations.
