pnital 36 Posted February 25, 2010 another version of : "Particle Acceleration" Choreographed by Yoram Karmi and his group of dancers. The narrative is a bout our pace of life in the developed technological era. Thanks for viewing. Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted February 25, 2010 Pnina, admirable composition,color-contrast and control of light & exposure. A symbolic image, with ominous overtones. Link to comment

kallol 1 Posted February 25, 2010 Nice image...color, composition and a bit subtlety elevate the image to a height...my best Link to comment
bretsch 0 Posted February 25, 2010 I like the red background; it makes the presence of the face masks more dreading, blunter; as for the silhouetted woman, it makes the message even more frightening. What a fantastic way of transiting so powerful feelings through a photograph! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 26, 2010 I very much appreciate your feedback. Elsi, it is a special name for a dance. And choreography that fits its name. " Particle acceleration." Mario, what did you mean by 1*1 ? Juan Carlos, thanks for stopping by and commenting. Your depiction fits well my message added to the choreographer's one. That's how our life will look with the technological development in the wrong hands Link to comment
alones 2 Posted February 26, 2010 What an interesting image , Very frightening . That RED works perfectly Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 26, 2010 The light works so well to add drama and foreboding to the image. Very nice. Link to comment
Funtak 0 Posted February 26, 2010 Back at home, compo in red..I like this one too Pnina. BR, vf Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 27, 2010 For me the dance speaks of what the Particle Acceleration is existing for ( physics), I wanted to present the ominous feeling of what can be the result of its action in the wrong hands, so I have used the light and the position of the two dancers on the stage ( there were 9 dancers on that scene) , very close to the light source. The red BG was an association as well. It is symbolic as I wrote to Juan Carlos. Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted February 28, 2010 Pnina an amazing fg siluette with fantastic colorful bg. Warm regards. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted February 28, 2010 Very well seen and captured...love the silohette of the man in the foreground......congrats on your efforts, Gail Link to comment
mazevedo 0 Posted March 1, 2010 Hi, Pnina I was suggesting a square crop (1*1 ratio). Take care, Mário Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted March 2, 2010 I thought I had commented on this one, but evidently I didn't. I'm moving too fast these days. Lovely work. The contrast between the lit dancer and her shadowy counterpart is striking, almost disturbing. The crimson backdrop, almost seems like a sea of blood. The masks seem to convey contagion as well. Troubling, but effective. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 3, 2010 Jorge, I appreciate your feedback. Gail, thanks as well for stopping by and your comments. Mario, thanks for your follow up, I tried it 1*1, but preferred it with more space on the L side. Senol,Thanks for your feedback Jeff, reading the newspapers with what is going on with the nuclear programs.... Your reading of that photo was as I wanted it to be read ,very accurate and troubling.Thanks. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted March 3, 2010 My favourite of your current three posts mainly, I think, because of it's bold visual impact, setting aside for the moment the message it portrays. The deep red & contrasting black silhouette attract and hold the eye while the two horizontal lines break up the solid mass of red and help lead the eye right to your subjects. Like Mario, I first thought a crop would benefit the image though my version only cropped the area to the right of the standing dancer, leaving the left side alone. That seemed to unbalance the image so I left it alone. It's tough to convey the feeling and message of an entire dance routine in a single photo so I'm glad you included some text explaining what was going on here. That there is a toxic element in the message is clear from the masks but beyond that it was guess work. Always some interesting visual treats to be expected when visiting your portfolio. You seldom disappoint. Best, LM. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 4, 2010 Thank you very much, it is always a pleasure to read your detailed impression .Thanks as well for your last line;-)). I tried all sort of cropping in order to have the stage for only the two dancers with my message I know it is not possible to understand the full impression of the dance with a photo, or even some of them ,so I write at least what the narrative and idea of the choreographer is. My impression is many times not exactly parallel to the idea of the artist/choreographer and I try to create the composition so it can stand on its own merit, adding my personal interpretation.
