alfbailey 3 Posted February 19, 2010 The Pool in the foreground was used by the Monks of Valle Crucis Abbey for stocking fish, 800 years ago fresh fish was not available, as a journey to the coast would take days, so the Monks solved the problem of fish on a Friday with their stock pond, this is the only surviving pool in Wales. Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated. Thank You. Link to comment

johnroberts 0 Posted February 19, 2010 Lovely shot of the old Valle Crucis. I like the detail in the Abbey itself with the purple of the braken in the b/g. The pool's reflection, with the ripples comple an excellent composition. Regards.....John Link to comment

mtmixon 0 Posted February 21, 2010 Very beautiful image. Am I correct in assuming that you used the HDR process to get this final shot? I'm just curious, as I've just recently started to experiment with HDR and this shot seems to be a great example of one. If it isn't, then you've got quite a talent for capturing light. papasan 0 Posted February 21, 2010 Beautiful image Alf. I like the serenity of the scene and the beautiful colors of the hill. The two trees on top of the hill seem to stand sentinelle to the ruin of the abey. The reflection is vivid and clear. I just love this kind of image. Well done - michel Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted February 21, 2010 MICHAEL Thank you for your kind comments, but the answer is no, I didn't use HDR. I have been experimenting with HDR myself recently, HOOTON CHURCH on my portfolio is the last one I tried, but this is a single image processed in Lightroom and Photoshop. Thanks again for looking in, much appreciated. MICHEL Thank you for your very kind comments and observations, I'm really pleased you like it. Best Wishes To All Alf Link to comment

JimCowan 0 Posted February 27, 2010 This photo has a lot of viewer interest, in particular I like the way the colour of the hill in the background draws the viewers eye into and through the image. Very nicely done. Jim Link to comment
