David-Wisse 5 Posted February 8, 2010 Appealing shot Hannu! I think Tapsu wants his dinner spiced up a bit :). He sure is a beautiful dog. Best, David Link to comment
hansdans 0 Posted February 8, 2010 Balthazar Well, I help you - there are 200 million scent receptors in the dog olfactory system help sniff out drugs and explosives, locate termites, gas pipeline leaks, and other things you may not know about, but spices are known to us and to dogs since centuries – many of these are herbs and many dogs have favorite odors… David Yes, this is actually taken in the middle of a training session. Timjam and some other herbs have proven to be of great help in training. Natural herb selection goes better if you give some of it with the food. He is able to choose 3 right out of 6 at the time being and we have been practicing only for some time.. BR Hannu Link to comment

hansdans 0 Posted February 8, 2010 Balthazar You are wellcome! Animal kingdom is full of extraordinary skills, we poor humans have mucous membranes containing about 5 million only... Their olfactory bulbs are also about 4 times larger than ours.. Giuseppe I sure will. I am astonished of the results so far and curious myself to know how good we will succeed – as it is not the dog to blaim but the trainer ;)… BR Hannu Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted February 8, 2010 Dogs are amazing, they can even smell cancerous tumors in people - it's been documented! Animals in general are amazing and I have heard of wonderful stories attesting to their loyalties and love for their "masters"...but we all know (those of us who are animal lovers) that they are the masters of us...due to their unconditional love they truly have conquered our hearts, haven't they? Your dog is so cute and I love to see your photos of him! Thanks for sharing. :) Link to comment
hansdans 0 Posted February 8, 2010 Thank You Trisha ! For your kind comment and interest. What you are saying is absolutely True ! The real traffic goes both ways- through mutual respect - which is a fact in dog training too. Tapsu will show his talent in this area and once documented high enough he will move on to something more difficult - and if that is making diagnosis to cancer patients even better. ( I am familiar with the study☺- but that is a long way..-time will show☺) Link to comment
