Excellent black and white conversion (I think it is a b&w?). I do wish that the table (is it a table?) were not there in the lower right. You have just enough detail in the grey sky to provide a superb backdrop for the tree. Nicely done, Leslie. Cheers! Chris

Leslie

You know I oft check the photo of the week and always try to determine what the slection group has been trying to stir, comments on flat images or harsh comments about an image that really is not worth that much, this is not to say all that the select are that way but some, and here you have an image that really stirs comments it is well framed, composed, developed and managed, this image takes time to sink in, it is well one of the better images I have seen in a while and is worthy of being a photo of the week to really inspire people to work on their photography and achieve great results... Thank you all so very much for your comments I do so appreciate and value your input.

Chris - That is a trailer that is pulled behind the tractor which is a little further to the right. It is a complete B&W conversion :) Thank you Chris I do so admire your work and it is a delight to me when you leave a comment on my work!

MJ - Thank you very much for your remarks! I sure would never think one of my photos making photo of the week for any reason being a mere amatuer. I am an admirer of your work and your unique and creative works. I value your input!

Thank you for your kind words :)

Warm regards to all, Leslie

I think you have achieved a great deal in processing this really well proportioned and composed image, I do agree with Chris in as much as the trailer is a bit of a distraction, but the subtle touches in the tones and light and shadow more than comnpensate for it.

I'm very impressed, Really Nice Work!

Kind Regards

Leslie, this is a wonderful photo -- for once I really like the white sky (something I'm often frustrated with). The form of the tree and the layer of snow on the branches are very appealing. I agree with Chris and Alf that the object (now known to be a trailer) is a distraction, and I wish it were not there for two reasons: it's an unknown object and therefore causes some confusion in the viewer's mind, and it detracts from the otherwise perfect simplicity of the overall photo. Nevertheless, this is an eye-catching photo, especially in B&W.

stunning in it's simplicity and fragile feel.

Beautiful silent atmosphere.

the B&W works wonderfully here.

Well done,

Best regards,

Hi Leslie-A simple compostion at it's best.Like the nearly perfect balance between the two main trunks & the snow covered branches are visually very pleasing..There always has to be one in the crowd, but I don't find the trailer to be a distraction..No doubt without the trailer your eyes are on the beauty of the tree & a lovely feeling of stillness. With the trailer the eyes contiually flicker back & forth from the tree to the trailer & this motion creates a sense of movement & the tree branches on the right appear to be reaching down to the trailer.. Crazy, eh! Best Regards-Ross
