A thaw in January? Aren't you the optimist! And I'm glad you are.

I like the sense of rushing water here.

Thank you all for your kind comments. It is good to hear from you.

I live in one of the warmest parts of Canada. There are places further west, like on the coast and especially Vancouver Island, where they rarely get snow or freezing temperatures. It is green year round, covered with beautiful rain forests. In the interior we don't always get spring in January, but it isn't unheard of. The past week we have had temperatures in the low double digits (celsius). Our snow has melted and the grass is green. The Olympic organizers are worried about how this warm weather is going to effect the Winter Olympics which opens in 24 days in Vancouver. One of the venues has been closed.

Sounds like a wonderful place to live, and your images confirm it, you have really captured the mood that the title suggests.

Well done!

Kind Regards

It was a little cooler today, only 5 C. It is supposed to go below freezing this weekend. This has been a been a big concern for the Olympic organizers. They have been building the ski jumps out of straw which will later be covered with manufactured snow. A big change from last year.

Thanks for stopping by.

Best wishes,
