alfbailey 3 Posted December 2, 2009 This is a photo I took not long after I bought my first "real" camera the Nikon D40 with it's 18-55 kit lens, they are a great little camera, and I can reccomend it to anyone just starting out, particcularly as you can get them very reasonable now second hand. This place is nestled in the Cheshire countryside and seems to be the epitomy of "English Rural Life" I love this little village, Your thoughts and comments are more than welcome. Thank You! johnroberts 0 Posted December 4, 2009 I recognised this scene immediately, walked past a number of times as it is a stones throw from my neck of the woods. You've picked ou an excellent angle for the shot to picture the church in all its grandeur. Regards....John Link to comment
pfranklin 0 Posted December 4, 2009 A lovely and peaceful scene. I like the way you have composed this, natural color and great clarity. Thank you for sharing this little piece of your part of the world ;) Warm regards, Pamela Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted December 4, 2009 I found you via a comment you made on Robert Charity's 'Drip, Drip, Drip' image. I love your portfolio, and I thought I'd start by commenting on this image. It is lovely and nicely composed. I wonder if you have considered cropping the tree on the right a bit. I'm not sure it adds anything to the photo. But by doing so I also felt I needed to crop off the bottom as well, and you may not like that because it interferes with the reflection of the tower. But this is another idea for you to consider. It's nice to know your work, Alf! Link to comment
JimCowan 0 Posted December 4, 2009 Your composition reveals the church in such a way that the beauty of the setting is highlighted, this is good since a viewer such as myself becomes curious and wants to know more. After 'googling' - 'Church and Marbury' and looking at other images taken of the church I appreciate your image even more. You have done an excellent job with this. Very nicely done! alfbailey 3 Posted December 5, 2009 JOHN Thanks for stopping by, and taking time out to comment, much apreciated! You are a fortunate man indeed to live in this part of Cheshire, The Swan pub at Marbury is one of my favourite establishments for eating and drinking, it's just as well I don't live too close, I'd weigh 40 stone and be a raving alcoholic. Thanks again John. PAMELA Thank you for your very kind comments, its a lovely part of the world, one of my next quests is to try and get the same shot with the mere calm with no wind, so that there is a better reflection of the church. Great to hear from you Pamela Warm Regards Alf CHRISTAL Thank you for taking an interest in my work, I'm really flattered. It is rare for me to like changes to an original, but have to say in this case I think you have made an improvement, the cropping seems to have accentuated the chuch, which is the main point of focus, so yeah I like it. Much appreciate your input Christal JIM Thank you so much, your comments are really appreciated. Where would we be without google eh. The whole village is very unspoilt Jim, a beautiful spot. Thanks for stopping by Jim Best Regards To All Alf Link to comment
