alex_huttleston 0 Posted August 14, 2005 While it's hard for me to tell with such a small example, it seems like there's noticable camera shake (best fixed by bracing against something, or using a tripod), or too large an apature was used so not everything is in sharp focus, which I belive would benifit this picture. I like all the lines of the fence, building, and road leading up to the person, though, as well as the image's contrast and tones. Link to comment

minicucci 0 Posted August 14, 2005 Hi Paul: While I'd largely agree with Alex's advice, especially re camera shake, I'd add a couple of other points. First, in this shot, you've given the sky a lot of landscape but it is without features because of exposure. Second, I think your crop makes the scene busy and detracts from the visual center of the lone figure standing in the road. In the attached, rough example, I recropped the image to lend more focus to the road and the solitary figure and I dropped in a sky as an example of what is missed visually when a sky is blown out. I also resharpened the image (not a really good idea with a JPG) to see if any of the smaller details could be brought to greater clarity. This image shows that you have a good eye. Read up on sharpening techniques and experiment with bracketed shots to get more dynamic range in your images. And most of all, keep shooting! Link to comment
pjmeade 12 Posted August 14, 2005 I think I would like it to be a little more sharp, but I like the composition and overall feel of this shot. Good work. Link to comment
