Guest Guest Posted August 9, 2005 Also very nice to see this kind of shot in green.Robert, you know that I'm really an amateur, beyond your confirmed talent and the fact the 20D is for me a terrific machine from science fiction : ), there is something which looks like chromatic deteriorations for my eyes, yet you used a filter and ... well... what can it be?May be you're thinking I'm looking for "hairs on eggs" : ) - I think you're right - I'm just really too curious! robertbrown 1 Posted August 9, 2005 Yann, you are being to modest and I value your insight. I don't think there's anything too mysterious here--just some scraping on the surface of the ice, perhaps from when I removed the ice from the tray. I don't think it had anything to do with the camera or lens--and I wasn't using a filter when I shot this. Usually I use a polarizer when doing macro work, but I forgot to when I shot these. Probably the scrape on the ice cube is picking up and reflecting some light. Thanks for your careful look at the photo! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 9, 2005 From the thumbnail, I thought this was a wave. Cool abstract. Also, an interesting choice in toning. I prefer this one to the warmer toned version. I think this tone and the composition of this one is stronger. Right now, my AC is broken (88 degrees indoors), shooting some ice sounds really good! Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted August 10, 2005 Laurie, thanks for the comment. I always found that a cold shower is a good way to cool off! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 10, 2005 That's exactly what I had to do late afternoon yesterday. The heat was simply overwhelming. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted August 31, 2005 I initially thought of a fountain spray frozen in time in the air by your shutter. The effect of air frozen in space amidst water, reverting my intuitive perception, was almost an epiphany! I like it a lot! Link to comment
