charrisi 0 Posted August 4, 2005 Wow. To me this would be THE find of a lifetime! How fortunate you are to look so close upon this wild creature... Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted August 4, 2005 Thank you Charlene. Thank you Jeff. This was taken last November during the mating season when these guys were looking for girlfriends. About 10 or 15 minutes after I took this shot, the ram shown here and another one decided to bump heads. You wouldn't believe the thump it makes when they collide. They only did it the one time and I was not in position to photograph it. THAT is the shot I want. I may never get it, but I will be looking this fall just in case. Link to comment
charrisi 0 Posted August 5, 2005 Is that what they call "in rut"? I hear they lose their minds while females are in heat. Careful! Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted August 5, 2005 That is indeed what they call in rut. I was quiet and didn't make any sudden moves. He didn't seem to object too much to my being there. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted August 5, 2005 Handsome portrai of the stud;>) I like the shadowplay and the texture of the rocks which sets him off.... Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 6, 2005 Nice juxtaposition Larry, of the brown animal on the yellow bg. Shadow, and textute of rocks are adding to it. Pnina Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 6, 2005 What a magnificent capture! Looks like a postcard! You were lucky to see them ram each other, even if you didn't get a shot. I'll bet that was something. Having tanned a few of these critters, I can tell you that the skin on their heads around those horns is at least an inch thick. Incredible. Link to comment
sallycd 0 Posted August 6, 2005 The movie " Bambi" crosses my mind. He looked so proud and defiant I might add. Good feelings here... Link to comment
