karol 1 Posted August 1, 2005 The composition is good and the DOF is perfect, but the background is a little distracting. Anyway, it is a very good photo. Regards. Link to comment
dk. 0 Posted August 1, 2005 Thanks everyone. Karol to tell you the truth I am not to crazy about the background myself and well the dead branches she is standing on too, but the bird looks good to me and I tried to Compose it nice. ;o) lol. Thanks again everyone its nice to hear from you so thanks for the comments. I hope everyone is well and having a good day out there. DK. Link to comment
greg s 4 Posted August 2, 2005 Looks like a female RWBB, perhaps a young one. For sake of comparison, here's a shot of a breeding female (note darker coloration). Could be a matter of color variation based on locality too, but I have a feeling this is a younger bird. Nice photo! -Greg- http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3346885 Sorry, doesn't look like links work from comment box. Link to comment

dk. 0 Posted August 2, 2005 Thanks for taking the time to comment Greg and Israel its nice to hear from you. Greg your bird and this one look very much alike to me, I have a behind shot too with the tail feathers spread out but I thought this one was better. DK. Link to comment
dmozzherin 0 Posted August 2, 2005 Very nice composition, David! I think you are right, this is a female Red-winged blackbird. I like the background -- it shows the habitat of the bird. Colors and sharpness are also very nice! Link to comment
watermark_of_merni 14 Posted August 2, 2005 Sharp work David ! I like the tonal qualities of the bird and branch where its perched. Then seeing the natural surroundings really makes this for me. Link to comment
