tomz 0 Posted July 31, 2005 Very nice. It's like an illustration for some travel book. Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted July 31, 2005 Stunning in all respects. Has the feel of a Hudson River style oil painting. Quite beautiful. Link to comment
pressuredbyphotons 5 Posted July 31, 2005 Gorgeous light, has a Rennaisance feel to it. I was impressed by your CV, obviously a very talented individual. You must have been a child prodigy. :^) Link to comment
wmwhee 0 Posted July 31, 2005 While this picture was "unrolling" on my screen, from top to bottom, I was reminded of a painting in a museum--I mean, the picture has a painterly quality. Then I thought of dinosaurs--our world a long time ago. Finally, I thought of the Garden of Eden in the biblical Book of Genesis. While I am not sure exactly what I am looking at in the picture, I like it. Link to comment
mrhaydon 0 Posted July 31, 2005 Great look to this. A modern day 'digital oil photopainting', maybe a new genre. Very well done. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted August 1, 2005 This image is so successful, it has all the ear marks for outstanding creativity; composition, lighting, excellent use of color, and my favorite ingredient....mystery. Link to comment

nikonuserf100 0 Posted August 1, 2005 Hmmmm ... a nice photo, but doesn't look real. It's very interesting, but I do believe too much PS was used. Link to comment

ianflindt 0 Posted August 1, 2005 If Rembrandt had visited Indonesia, he would have produced a painting not unlike this. It's not because of (nor despite) that quality that I'm awe-inspired by this image - there's so much else besides....colours, textures, tones, composition, mood. The list goes on. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 2, 2005 I can't believe my eyes... Is this place really located on Earth? Link to comment
lieb 0 Posted August 2, 2005 thank you everyone so much for taking the time to comment - i was hesitant about even posting this, as it was a test of a new idea.. my only comment about the PSing: i don't submit what i saw, i submit what i felt. any lighting (or filters, etc) that someone places on a subject has the same goal as photoshop, pushing an observer's perspective to show how the artist felt about a subject. the original photo looked very different, and did not get across what i wanted! anyone that 'prefers the natural' would probably say differently if they saw it, given the conditions of the day/lighting. anyway, best to all. please, if you rate this low, give me a comment - the praise has been wonderful, but i post here to learn from others and to learn about what affects people, and this community is full of amazing talent that i am inspired by daily. constructive criticisms are my favorite comments; i can take the bashing. and yann, the only answer i can give is 'kind of' :) best- jeff Link to comment
