atkphotoworks 0 Posted July 25, 2005 Cathy, bravo on this image - just almost makes it worthwhile not having submissions for the longest time. I wish we could have gotten more of the reflection of the sun in the water. Also the leveling of the horizon would work as an advantage. All said though, a different type of sunset image. cathyscholl 0 Posted July 25, 2005 Thanks a lot everyone. Amar I was hoping someone would comment on straightening out the image. With the upper and lower parts of the bridge at different angles I've been at a loss as to how to straighten this so I decided to wait for comments. Also, because I am still shooting with film and have no scanner I've been very slow to have batches of slides scanned. I'll get going on it and hope to have another group of images to share soon! In the meantime I have a few more here ready to go so stay tuned. Thanks. Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted July 25, 2005 Cathy I attempted to straighten the image using the horizon in the background. The result unfortunately was that I had to crop out the reflection. I actually don't mind that it is out. The fact is I think the sun itself is interestingly placed and the image on the whole is strong enough that I don't think the absence of the reflection detracts all that much. Will stay tuned for further images Cathy. As always looking forward to it. Link to comment
jfochoa 0 Posted July 25, 2005 Very good shot! All is ok... even the horizon! Congrats. Link to comment
cathyscholl 0 Posted July 26, 2005 Thanks Amar. I was working on the shot earlier and planned to tell you about losing the reflection but you beat me to it. If the slide is scanned out of the mount there will be a little more room to play with the horizon angle. If I want to keep the reflection on this scan I can do a minor horizon adjustment. atkphotoworks 0 Posted July 26, 2005 Cathy, I forgot to upload the version I worked on. Here it is. The reflection is removed. Let me know what you think. Link to comment
christopher_azzopardi 0 Posted July 26, 2005 Great shot. I like the sihouette effect against the red orange sky. The figures give life to this scene. Well done! Link to comment
cathyscholl 0 Posted July 27, 2005 Amar, for what it's worth I like your version. It's cleaner. Thanks for the example. That's one of the benefits of posting here, to get comments on how to improve the image. My husband prefers the original and thinks it's more interesting. Everyone has an opinion, that's for sure! :) I may post the straightened version in a few days if no one else comments here and see who likes which and why. Take care. Link to comment
