The simple color scheme: basically yellow, black and green is excellent. Crispness and composition is good. However, as mentioned above, the lack of the rest of the leg...or perhaps the point at which it exits the frame is problematic.

The way I see it (provided this is close to the whole frame original shot) is that if you'd shot lower and included the leg, you would've wound up with the "center-spot syndrome" or "bull's eye" composition. You have fairly followed the "Rule of Thirds" which to me is as important as having the entire leg. But my guess is that you've cropped your image to this.

Macro is always more dazzling when it is "up close and personal;" but I think you could back off (less cropping), leave the grasshopper on the lower right intersection and include the rest of the leg--if you have it. :-) This image "drips" with potential. It should get sevens for appeal were it not for the leg. Sorry about so much yap about the leg. I just think the colors and patterns are great.

One other nit pick, which you likely had no control over, even if you had noticed it in the view finder, is what appears to be a fork hanging from the top joint of the rear legs. Kinda commical actually. :-)

Regards
