breathlessconni 0 Posted June 23, 2005 This guy was standing alone & it was hard to shoot through the parallel wired fence, but as soon as I aimed, he spread his ears. In this image, I tried to erase the signs of the fence in the background. The original is also posted. Link to comment
billangel 9,671 Posted June 23, 2005 This is a good image to illustrate the topics discussed in the following article: http://elephant.elehost.com/About_Elephants/Anatomy/The_Ears/the_ears.html I think that your image is aesthetically better than the ones that were used for illustration purposes by the authors of that article. breathlessconni 0 Posted June 24, 2005 That's funny. Yeah they should probably get some new pictures =) Soon, I'll post a revised version of this & some of the other animals. I need to remove the blue tint they all have. Is that from the UV filter because I often have to adjust the blue level? Link to comment
billangel 9,671 Posted June 27, 2005 Now that you mention it, this image appears to have a slightly blue/greenish tint to it. The color of the elephant (as rendered on my monitor) is definitely not gray, but slightly blue/greenish. (Is that what you see?) I believe that most digital image editors have a color correction feature to ensure the correct color balance, and to remove such off-color effects. I'm not a digital camera person (I still use film) so I can't comment on what might be causing the effect with images produced by the Nikon D70. Link to comment
breathlessconni 0 Posted June 28, 2005 Ahhh... yes. All of my pics have the blue tint. I think my UV filter is garbage =) Or maybe I need to remove it sometimes. I'm still learning. I used to shoot film (mostly snapshots) but it got way too expensive having them developed. While I like playing with the pictures, I'd rather not have to make the color adjustments on each one sometimes. I'll let you know when I fix this one. I also want to remove that road in the background too. Link to comment
breathlessconni 0 Posted August 19, 2005 I liked how sharp the ear was, but I didn't like the background so I did some work on it. I was just wondering what others thought. Thank you! Link to comment
breathlessconni 0 Posted August 21, 2005 Thank you. I was quite far actually. It was through a fence, 300mm. The post from the fence fell on the other side of his face. Link to comment
