A walkway to the Golden Gate Bridge... Thanks for looking.

I personally didn't like the angle of this picture... the idea is good anyway but should be improved by another angle choice. Keep shooting!

great opportunity -- maybe pick a different time of the day to add a little drama.. needs a better sky.

3 days in San Francisco 20 min to see the Golden Gate. What I liked about this was how the angle of the steps and hill matches the suspension part of the bridge. The grass blowing in the wind was as close to golden, as I could make it without being too in your face. The sky, I wish I got their more towards sunset. Felt like the bridge has been photographed so much was trying for kind of a Haiku. Thanks for the comments.

Definitely an unusual point of view. I like the way the bridge is treated not as a feature but as a part of the landscape, which of course it is.

 

As for the sky, I understand completely your problem with timing. It's hard on a short visit to see everything you want at the "right" or best time. Treat it like a scouting trip, now you have an excuse to go back. :)

 

One suggestion I would make though is to get an ND grad filter. It would help you hold color in the sky by reducing the contrast. You can approximate its effect after the fact in PS, but the filter itself is better and not expensive. (Get the square one, not a round screw-on.) Once you've used one, you'll wonder how you ever did without it.
