christian deichert 1 Posted June 21, 2005 My first thought was "too dark," but then I looked at it and realized that the appeal of this shot is the darkness and the subtle gradiation betwen the layers of mountains. The mountain pass at upper right is a great photo in and of itself; the braided river below is icing on the cake. That said, I see two issues here. First, the left side of the frame is very, probably too, imposing; because of the limited detail remaining in the river at that point, it may make sense to crop. Also, there is a bit of flare at bottom center; it's a bit distracting. It doesn't kill the shot, and cropping it out would be disastrous, so it's just going to have to stay and remind you to use a hat or something to keep the sun off your front lens element when the sun isn't actually in the frame. Tricky here, I know, maybe even impossible, but by all means try. Edit: I just noticed you joined a couple days ago. Welcome to photo.net! Link to comment
aniketshirke 0 Posted June 21, 2005 This picture was taken at about 5:15pm, if my memory serves me right. It was a magical moment, we were crossing through a trecherously narrow pass when we witnessed this spectacular sight. Link to comment
barreto 0 Posted June 21, 2005 I like the photo, especially the +/- 2/3 measured of the right to the left. In my humble opinion last +/- 1/3 are pure black and it? is too much. Link to comment
