sanford_dickerson 0 Posted November 2, 2001 COVER SHOT FOR ONE OF THE MANY SKI MAGAZINES!!!! EXCELLENT Link to comment
little_buffalo 0 Posted November 8, 2001 I don't know that I've ever seen speed captured so well. Great colors, sharp image and it makes me feel like I'm flying down the mountain along-side the skier. truly a great shot. Link to comment

Wayne Melia 6,041 Posted November 20, 2001 It's not easy to get such good exposure control of snow, and the composition is (IMHO) perfect. Any tips on shooting snowboarders/skiers should be coming from you, to others. Would I be nitpicking to notice the apparent scratch across the sky; or mistaken in that is a real cloud or jet contrail? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 20, 2001 Maybe you could move in closer to the skier next time, and include more of the landscape away from the slope. Nice photograph though, it provides a good reason for which anyone would want to ski - beautiful views (and surely great sensations in powder like that!). Link to comment
joe a. 0 Posted November 20, 2001 the "scratch" actually is a jet contrail. i should note that this is cropped and rotated from the original because the horizon wasn't...well, horizontal. i have the grid on in my viewfinder at all times now to avoid this problem. i wish the photo was sharper. thanks a ton for the comments, folks Link to comment
stan_walsh 0 Posted November 22, 2001 Joe, This is a great shot! I wonder if the skier would pop out more if he was just down slope so as not to blend in with the cliff in the back drop. maybe, maybe not. I think the next time I try for a tele shot like this I will shoot in continuous motor drive. This photo really makes me want to both get out skiing and get out shooting. Stan Link to comment
