edpiercy 0 Posted June 19, 2005 I'd say this is a pro journalistic caliber photo, great BW conversion. Regards. Link to comment
mattb1 0 Posted June 21, 2005 Most of the photo is pretty good, but overall does not work for me. I cannot tell who is the detainee and who are the plain-clothes police. So, it has a lack of contention and drama. No focus point of contention, no show of emotion on the detainee's part, no show of struggle. It is not a bad attempt at news photography, but this is one I personally would not publish. Not that I have had a successful documentary photograph, just and observation from a viewer. I think news/documentary photography is very hard. Unfortunately the politics leave a lot to be desired as well, no drama in people being childish. Link to comment
wingell 0 Posted January 16, 2009 This shot works as a dramatic image but does not inform viewers about the action you describe in the caption. It's difficult to separate the "perps" from the plainclothes cops in a photograph; that's where, unfortunately, police violence becomes a graphic asset. Cheers...Bill 5/5 Link to comment
