sawicki 0 Posted June 17, 2005 This is a doll which is shown at the exhibition in Auschwitz museum. A doll was taken probably from a child that was later killed by the lethal heart injection. I decided to take a colour one here to make it more emotional, because the world in b&w is more unreal for us. Link to comment
LorenzaF 0 Posted April 23, 2006 Pawel, all the photos in your Auschwitz folder are painfully succesfull in making understand the horrors that happened there, but this one is devastating. Not only a doll in such a place immediately recalls the death of its little owner, but the fact that the doll is so badly shattered speak of violent and sorrowful death. And the fact that the doll's head is detatched and crushed makes me think that they not only took the child life and future, but also his identity; the doll's body withouth the head recalls thousands of corpses withouth a name.
